When the Nazis came

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Sunday afternoon

I got 51/60 on this IQ test. (You’ll know what IQ my score supposedly translates to once you’ve taken the test.) I must admit that completing the test on a Sunday afternoon and my only day off while the weather outside is a sunny 21°C leaves me to suspect that these scores fail to take into account something very, very important.

Now I’m off to the store to buy an iron after a very much delayed realisation that the laid back, creased shirt look is frowned upon in this part of the world. It only took me a year and a half to notice it, which is another thing that adds to my suspicion I am rather slow on the uptake of social norms and conventions.

Puzzle #1: Team Rankings

puzzle1

Letters K, L, M, N, and T represent teams. The columns 1 through 5 represent team rankings. The rows represent Mark, Desmond and Jessica’s prediction of the final team rankings. (Mark and Jessica believe Team T will win, while Desmond believes Team N will.)

Everyone correctly predicted three times while each guessed wrong twice.

Question: In what sequence from first to last did the teams rank?
The answer will be posted in the first comment of Puzzle #2.
