St. Ambroise Beach Camping Gallery

Friday’s skating at Kildonan Park was great. I finally caught the snowfall while skating on the little pond and connecting river. The place was mostly empty, but for one family with a little girl. The girl was wearing proper skates - not those double bladed kind - and spent most of her time learning how to get up off the ice, a difficult task as I would later discover for myself.

Today, the snow is blowing like crazy. Time for a drive, with some hot tea, and maybe the GF too. While I’m out there ‘braving’ the elements, I leave you with some pics of last summer’s camping trips to St. Ambroise, Manitoba.

Tenting at St. Ambroise
Behind the trees and tent is the beach.

The way to the beach. Looks a bit oriental.

Ladybug on the Beach
Depending on the time of year, these guys can be “cute” or a “near pest”.

Sunset on the St. Ambroise Beach
The drowning sun. Once it touches the water, it only takes a couple minutes to completely disappear.

St. Ambroise Campground Road
The St. Ambroise campground road. Right hand sites are on the beachfront, a much preferred location.

Now that I have all those going through winter thinking of summer, I’m off to Subway for a sandwich, for the ride through the snowy Winnipeg! Let it snow I say!

I like the pic of the ladybug… good photography brother. I can’t wait myself to make it out to St. Ambrosie… it was really pretty, minus the bitting flies. This year we’ll be buying a huge tent and hopefully some other camp gear to make it a little less stressfull. We’ll have to coordiate a trip out together again, assuming your willing to put yourself through that again. :) More wood this time though… although it was kinda fun to be treasure hunting for reinforcment in the middle of the night.

Okay, the wood thing was entirely not my fault. That wood would have lasted me and Larissa several camping trips. What I brought was about $10 worth, so we must have gone through about $20 with our pickings added. It’s just funny how Conrad always packs in as much as will fit into the pit. :) I always throw in one log, and wait till that is almost gone! I remember saying “we should conserve a bit” as we were leaving, and he said “oh, okay” and was ready to throw in a third large piece all in one swoop! :) :) :)

Annnyway, yes, the search for wood was fun. Even if I did fall into the fire pit of another campsite. :) Oh yeah, and thanks for the compliments on my photography.
