Chaiya, Chaiya

“Inside Man” is where I first encountered this song. Not sure what it had to do with that plot, but I ask not why when good music finds its way into my life. The original is from the movie Dil Se (From the Heart) starring Shahrukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, both seen as the main cast in the video.

The Dil Se film score and soundtrack were composed by Allah Rakkha Rahman.

Hole in the Ladder: Fallout

Here is my challenge to anyone who thinks bleeping content allows everyone to enjoy a song, movie, or written piece:

Take your favourite piece, and replace with with a bleep every instance of the words silence, noise, devil, hate, god, music and movie. Now do that for everything you see on TV, hear on the radio, read in a magazine. This is what “cleaned up” material sounds like to me – an annoying stuttering as if a technical problem was breaking up the sound stream, or a broken printing machine was allowed to continue to print.

This is the problem with folks thinking they know what others will enjoy. Let’s call the practice what it is: satisfying the lowest common denominator with no consideration for anyone else, not “cleaning up” or “making it enjoyable to all.”

So it starts…

“Just show up when ever I have a get together. The only exception is the last Saturday of every month. That’s when I have the midget convention… other big people make them nervous, so it’s best to to sit that one out. Hell hath no fury like a midget scorned.

After you guys left yesterday, I fell into a snowbank on my walk, but did managed to get home before I froze too much. I was then trying to warm myself by the stove, which lead to a small fire, but that is a story for another day.”
