A Hunter goes for an instant gratification that last a short while. He goes for the kill, and reaps the benefits right there and then while fending for himself.

The Farmer takes a lot longer to see any results. He sows the seeds, watches things grow, and in the end has a much more stable and sustainable method of survival. Both types of people are self-dependent, but their methods of survival have very different effects on their lives and their environment.

In my case, I prefer to develop relationships of mutual benefit and allow these relationships to grow. I'm not "using people up" to get what I need to survive, before moving on to do the same thing elsewhere.

Lost wouldn't have been of much help... I don't think. It's one of the reasons that at the end of it I didn't know if I was either of the two. It took a second brush with the ideas for things to click.

As to the entry format, yes, it's different: a whole new section, a new style, and a mysterious title that on the surface seems like a misnomer. If I stick with it, it'll all make sense one day. :)

Interesting way of reconstructing the morning. Since I'm one of the 4 people in the western world who isn't watching Lost, I don't know what you're talking about there - though my humble guess would be that the hunter is someone who goes out and takes what he wants, letting others do the work for him, while the farmer is someone who sows the seeds of an idea and waits while it comes to fruition, then reaps the rewards.
Or I could be completely off-base. Either way, you know that, personally, I'd prefer a farmer to a hunter any day. :)
