However, seeing as there is a multitude of potential gods out there, a more accurate statement may be "even if there is a God, we have no way of knowing *who* He is" - not just what he (or she) wants. (Of course, expanding one's argument to include the full spectrum of beliefs would just make one's head explode, so I understand your limiting your arguments to one deity at a time.)
